Typical day at school

8.30-9.00  Welcome

The children arrive at school. Each child is greeted with a teacher, they both shake hands together. Then the parent leaves and the child take off and puts away his shoes and coat.

9.-11.00   Time of concentration, snack,circle time ( ellipse)

Practical life ( Art is included)

According to Maria Montessori the ability to concentrate is an essential precondition for the healthy development of the child. The deeper the child is able to concentrate, the deeper and longer lasting  the knowledge the child acquires is.Children are learning through many activities. Individual lessons as well as group lessons are demonstrated by the teacher or an older student.

During this work period we may meet once or twice on the ellipse to sing, dance, talk, do storytelling, learn a new poem,do finger plays,make a group presentation, share, review calendar etc. 

Snack- A healthy snack consisting mainly from fruit and vegetables is available the whole morning and the children serve themselves when hungry. We encourage the kids to drink regularly as well.

11.00-12.00   Outside play,nature walk

12.00.-12.30  Lunch

12.30-13.00   Picking  up children with half day attendance

13.00-14.00   Afternoon relax, reading, quiet activities

14.00-14.30  Circle time ( music)

15.00-15.30  Snack, Work period

15.30-16.00  Pick up time, cleaning

The children  can participate in the cleaning activities or continue on their work.
